Hindus and Others

There is no "other" for a true Hindu! Because according to the Vedic scripture, the Supreme God or Brahman is everywhere and from that spiritual point everything gets included and transcended. So a true Hindu will not divide the world as Hindu and non-Hindu.

On the other hand, all other non-Brahmic or A-Brahamic views, look upon every other view, including the "all-inclusive Hindu" view as the "other" and false also. This makes their view of reality exclusive or myopic or constricted resulting in artificial division and endless conflict.

As the Hindu God Brahman, the absolute reality, is everywhere it always remains the origin/abode/destination of all kinds of views. Even though all kinds of partial views of non-Hindus are also rooted and indirectly pointing to the same universal reality, their myopic view is not encompassing or revealing the all pervasive nature of the absolute reality or God or Brahman.

So the difference or the conflict between Hindu and others is nothing but the conflict between whole and part. All other views are therefore partial, finite and incomplete as they are only looking at a part of the otherwise whole truth which is cognized by Hindus.

As God is the all pervading universal absolute reality and also the source/abode/destination of all kinds of existence and views, there is a need for Hindus to show how all other "non-Hindu" views are indirectly pointing to the same Hindu reality or God.

So let's examine the basic tenets of some major Abrahamic religions and see how they are indirectly teaching/endorsing Hindu view/God Brahman.

Hindu view of Christian teaching:

The name Jehova/Jesus could be a corrupted form of the Hindu/Vedic word Jiva/Isha. Every Jiva or the Atman/embodied self is the Isha or owner/controller of his/her body. This body is the cross on which the Jiva/Jesus is currently crucified as it were. He is crucified due to ignorance/attachment/identification of the self with the body, resulting in the endless cycle of birth/pleasure and death/pain. This Jiva needs to realize that it is imperishable and different from the perishable body. Every Jiva is also a son/servant of God, Brahman/ParamAtma/Supreme universal Self, who is everywhere, manifesting as this very Universe. This realization that the Jiva is not the body, but the son/servant/image of God, is the actual resurrection/rising from death/ignorance, that helps to lift the Jiva above all worldly dualities of pain/pleasure and utilize the body as a tool to serve the world. This unconditional selfless service or duty that is rendered by the Jiva onto the God / Brahman manifesting as the universe goes by the name of Dharma.

The Christian trinity of God/Father-Jesus/son-holy spirit, could also correspond to the Hindu trinity of ParamAtma (Supereme Self) - Jivatma (individual self) - Prakrithi/PrAna (energy of God) that unites them.

So Christian view is indirectly teaching and endorsing Hindu Dharma only.

Hindu view of Islam:

The one and only Islamic God, Allah is the corrupted form of the Hindu name AtmA. The Hindu supreme God Brahman is the all pervading and indwelling AtmA or the spirit Self of the entire universe. God Allah as the universal Self / Atman is obviously non-dual and so will always be non-dual or One without a second.

The name Muhammed PBUH, could be a corrupted form of the Hindu word mahAmodha (Greatest enjoyer) or mahAprAna (Great Vital breath prAna) that denotes Hanuman, who is the embodiment of knowledge/power/happiness and is the Guru or prophet that teaches the supreme God in the form of Rama (Rahim). This supreme God Rama who is actually the Atman / Brahman is indwelling in Hanuman, manifesting as the Vital breath or PrAna that enlivens all beings. This MahAprAna or the vital breath always remains as the connecting link between every embodied being/jiva and the universe/God. So the Islamic belief that Muhammed is the only perfect teacher of Allah or God is perfectly aligning with the Hindu teaching that Hanuman in the form of mahAprAna (vital breath) is the perfect teacher or even the indicator of God in the form of Atma, residing in all. The process of breathing is an indicator of the existence of God/Allah/Atma in any body. The body is existing and functioning only because of the existence of the Self/Atman. No one can deny this as it is experiential. This vAyuputra or mahAprAna is seen as the visible manifestation of God / pratyaksha Brahma.

Our dependence for existence on the Hindu God manifesting as this entire universe cannot be denied by anyone. There is a need therefore for humans to return the favor by engaging in selfless service to all the many entities on which we depend, like the five elements (devatas), our fore-fathers, parents, teachers, society, the world of animals and so on. This self-less service is nothing but Dharma.

So all abrahAmic religions are unknowingly and indirectly teaching Hindu dharma only. But due to their ignorance of myopic view they love and serve people subscribing to their ideology which hating others who hold different views. But true Hindus on the other hand do not discriminate as they see all humans and entire creation as a manifestation of God only.

Dharma as parArtha karma or self-less service is so experiential and universal, that no thinking and honest human can deny. Reality will always be the same, all encompassing and so there is a need to un-convert from all myopic views in order to fully grasp and appreciate it's universal/infinite nature.

Namaste,

Suresh
